PLANS to build affordable housing in Barnsley are set to be considered by the council.
The plans to develop the site of the former Edward Sheerien School in Athersley have been submitted by Yorkshire Housing.
The developers are seeking permission to build 30 new homes on a plot of land off Sheerien Close.
Detailed plans for the site, which borders Hilltop Crescent, include 19 two-bedroomed homes with a further 11 three-bedroomed dwellings.
The plans also detail parking spaces for up to 41 vehicles.
Should the proposals be granted by the council’s planning department, builders aim to start work by the end of March.
