Plans approved for homes on greenfield site in Sheffield

Have your say

An application to build a housing development on greenfield land in Sheffield has been approved, despite objections.

Developers are set to put up 14 houses, demolish an outbuilding and create an access road behind Worrall Hall Farm, off Top Road, Worrall.

The land was earmarked for housing two years ago by Sheffield Council as part of efforts to make up its total of 35,000 new houses to be built by 2026.

Residents living near the site raised objections, many on traffic and parking grounds. The Campaign to Protect Rural England and Bradfield Parish Council were in opposition, and the Loxley Valley Protection Society also objected.

The society said the site was ‘inappropriate’ and that houses within the site would overlook one another.
