BOSSES at Doncaster Council claim the authority’s latest land use plans are the most business-friendly in years.
The authority is due to publish its Core Strategy, which officers describe as Doncaster’s planning vision for the future.
It provides borough-wide planning guidelines for 2011-2026 and will be used to guide decisions on planning applications and more detailed plans at the neighbourhood level.
Coun Jonathan Wood, cabinet member for business, regeneration and planning, said: “The Core Strategy will form the basis for the determination of planning applications and more detailed plans for neighbourhoods.
“As well as supporting business growth in Doncaster it will also protect Doncaster’s fantastic countryside from any inappropriate development.
“What is exciting about this document is for the first time we are progressing business-friendly policies which show that Doncaster is open to investors.”
The strategy has already gone through a number of consultations and was endorsed by full council in February. The public now has until Tuesday, May 3 for final comments to be made.
Comments should be about how the plan has been prepared, are the policies justified, do they meet national guidance and will they make a difference to Doncaster. It is available to view at libraries.
