Planners to rule on applications

Have your say

CONTROVERSIAL planning applications for new homes and a truck garage will be considered by Sheffield Council’s planning board.

The three proposals are all recommended for approval by the council’s west and north planning board on Monday, despite objections.

Fifteen people are opposing plans for two houses on a garage site on Brick Drive, Crookes, which are smaller than originally planned. Neighbours say the homes will be overdevelopment and impact on their amenity.

Nine neighbours have objected to separate plans for two homes on Westover Road, Sandygate, also on the grounds of ‘overdevelopment’.

Residents in Crookes would prefer bungalows and those in Sandygate a single house.

The garage plans, at Bradbury’s Haulage, Yew Lane, Ecclesfield, have had eight objections, due to its proximity to homes.
