Plane’s black box should be easy to find

Have your say

With the problems of finding the missing Malaysian aircraft, I was wondering why they have had so much trouble finding the black box (which just happens to be orange).

With todays technology why can’t these boxes be embedded in the wing or roof of the aircraft and jettisoned on impact with self inflating balloons attached by a line carrying transmitters.

That at least would help them find the area to look instead of the thousands of square miles they have to search with the present option.

It took two years to find the Air France flight recorder.
