Rotherham has announced plans to mark Armed Forces and Veterans Day.

Sheffield has already confirmed it is hosting a parade in the city centre for the occasion on Saturday, June 23.

The same day, Rotherham will host stalls and activities in the town centre between 10am and 4pm.

There will be a parade leaving Rotherham Town Hall at 11.20am, followed by the raising of the Armed Forces Flag at noon in All Saints’ Square.

Coun John Doyle, Rotherham Council cabinet spokesman, said: “Members of our armed forces do a fantastic, selfless job, travelling the globe, leaving loved ones and risking everything to ensure people of all nations can continue to enjoy freedom and democracy.”
