Doncaster Council’s Neighbourhood Hit Squad is launching a clean-up of Bentley this week.
The project is run by Doncaster Council’s private sector housing team and brings together a variety of agencies including NHS Doncaster, the police and fire service.
It will target a range of issues including complaints, empty properties, disrepair, fly-tipping and community safety.
The squad will be in the Bentley Rise North area for nine months to try to improve the local environment and housing conditions for residents.
A launch event on Thursday at Fern Avenue, from 1pm until 6pm, will feature stalls from various agencies promoting community events, as well as a fire service road side rescue demonstration featuring a vehicle being cut-up.
Deputy Mayor Coun Patricia Schofield said: “We will be looking at a wide range of issues within the community and I would encourage residents to attend the launch event. This is your chance to tell us how we can make a difference.”
Bentley Coun Marilyn Green added: “This is good news for local people.”
