Ten pigeons were released in Sheffield city centre in tribute to Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, on the day of his funeral on Saturday.

Members of the Royal Pigeon Racing Association liberated 10 pigeons from cathedral cities across the UK, including Sheffield to commemorate the life of the Duke of Edinburgh.The 10 pigeons represented each decade of the Duke’s life. Queen Elizabeth is patron of the RPRA and would regularly visit the lofts with the Duke at Sandringham.
