Pictures show staggering amount of litter in South Yorkshire rivers
These pictures show the staggering amount of plastic which has been dumped in South Yorkshire rivers.
Environment Agency officer Adam Bayliss shared the images of the River Cheswald close to Doncaster town centre.
The litter has washed up on the banks of the river just off Elwis Street.
Mr Bayliss also shared pictures of a huge amount of litter in the River Don aqueduct, near Kirk Bramwith.
He said: "I’ve taken a few reports this week of plastic and rubbish building up on the River Cheswald. While it’s not causing an imminent flood risk we're working with landowners to get the waste removed as soon as possible for environmental reasons."
