PICTURED: Snow ploughs make way up and down M1 near Sheffield
Snow ploughs are helping to clear the M1 motorway after heavy snow showers left some of the carriageway unsafe.
Highways England said ploughs were continuing to clear lane three on the stretch between junction 36 for Barnsley and junction 38 near Woolley.
Motorists have been advised to take care as ploughs are travelling in the outside lane at slow speeds.
