Pick up a sweet treat and help kids at Sheffield Food Festival

Visitors to the Sheffield Food Festival are being urged to try a sweet treat from a charity cake stall that helps disadvantaged children in the city.

As part of the festival on May 30, Free Cakes for Kids Sheffield are holding a fundraising cake stall in the Peace Gardens and a free children’s baking workshop in the Winter Gardens.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “Try our delicious cakes and stock up on branded tea towels, bags and birthday cards - all proceeds go towards making free birthday cakes for children in the city.”

The charity bakes free birthday cakes for children in Sheffield who wouldn’t otherwise get a cake, due to poverty, homelessness and family breakdown.

The team of volunteers recently baked their 400th creation.
