UPDATE: A man has been injured in the blast, the fire service has confirmed.

But it is not yet known how extensive his injuries are, although the injuries were not fatal.

Eyewitness Charlotte Jade said: “It was a huge explosion, I’ve never heard anything like it in my life.

“The entire Street shook and the entire house is to be possibly condemned and knocked down.

“A policeman told us that the house is lucky to still be standing.

“I have news from emergency services that the man is doing just fine, nobody else was hurt. I didn’t take these photographs but my partner did, we were seconds away from being hit by the impact.”
