A BUS company has given a warning to a driver twice caught using his mobile phone on a route in Sheffield.
Motorists saw the driver on his phone while driving in Middlewood for TM Travel.
Eyewitness Alistair Nicoll, who complained to the firm, said: “This is not only against the law but is very dangerous. Had I been in my car I would have blocked the bus and called the police but I was on foot.”
Paul Harding, operations manager for TM Travel, said: “We put the driver through a disciplinary hearing as we had received two reports about alleged use of a mobile phone while driving. He gave assurances it would not happen again.
“We can assure the public that we do take complaints of this nature very seriously and have dismissed drivers in the past for the offence.”
