Here’s a little something for our illustrious leader Paul Scriven to have a look at and then say that the council is not negligent in its approach to repairing potholes.
The photo was taken at the junction of Auckland Way and Windmill Greenway, near Halfway centre on April 14.
I had driven along this road on April 11 and know that the repair you can see at the top of the photo wasn’t done then so it’s likely this farce took place on April 13.
I say farce as there’s no other word for it!
What other council but Sheffield would send a team to repair a pothole, let them fill it and leave four more potholes un-repaired, within eight or nine feet?
Not only that, but if you look carefully you’ll see the repair is already sinking.
Come the May elections, Scriven will be on his way out and someone else will take responsibility for this mess. But the sad thing is that the heads of these departments such as Street Force, Sheffield Homes, Highways Authority and many others will still be feeding the next leader with their crackpot ideas and continuing to make poor and ridiculous decisions, being a law unto themselves.
Perhaps the next leader will give some thought to having a clearout!
