"I knew Sheffield pretty well before starting out – better than some, but not as well as others – but writing his book has enabled me to discover so much more about our city that had previously just passed me by.

"The aim was to end up with an informative celebration of everything that makes Sheffield what it is, without trying to be too organised in the way that that information was presented. I think we’ve ended up pretty much where I’d hoped we would, and I hope readers get equal pleasure out of browsing through the book as I did in putting it together!’

A Great Sheffield Miscellany is available online from www.agreatsheffieldmiscellany.co.uk and also from publishers ALD Design and Print (Sharrow Vale Road), Rhyme and Reason (Ecclesall Road), Sheffield Scene (Surrey Street), The Sheffield Shop (Ecclesall Road) and Waterstones in Sheffield.

The book comes in A5 softback and is 225 pages and priced at £11.95.
