WW2 'bomb' unearthed on Catcliffe building site

South Yorkshire Police attended reports of a WW2 bomb yesterday (January 7).

A specially-trained police officer was sent to investigate, and the bomb, on a building site on Catcliffe, was found to be a training device.

A statement from SYP said: “ After discussions with other experts and standing around with their fingers in their ears, it was realised that the bomb was a training device.

“After the officer’s blood pressure was brought back to normal with a sit down and a cup of tea, he returned to his excellent application of his traffic law knowledge.”
