Tributes have been paid to a Rotherham United fan who died after being taken ill at the Millers’ match against Accrington Stanley.

Andrew Wilson-Storey was taken to hospital in Lancashire after falling ill at last weekend’s game and sadly died this morning, Saturday, February 29.

In a statement, the club said: “He was a lifelong Millers supporter who followed the club up and down the country, and following confirmation from his family, we are heartbroken to be reporting the news of his passing at such a young age,” it added.

“Everyone at Rotherham United would like to extend their sincere and heartfelt condolences to Andrew’s friends and family at this incredibly difficult time.”

The club held a minute’s silence for Andrew before their game against MK Dons kicked off today.

Millers legend John Breckin said: “I'd just like to send my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Andrew Wilson-Storey, following the news of his tragic passing.”
