Three quarters of South Yorkshire couples have copied sex scenes from movies, survey reveals

The movie sex scene most likely to spark real-life passion was Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie getting it on in Mr & Mrs Smith.

The couple famously fell in love on the set of the 2005 blockbuster about a husband and wife struggling to keep their marriage alive until they realise they are both working as assassins.

The second most popular sex scene replicated in real-life is George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez's on-screen passion in Out Of Sight.

Third place went to Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore's potting-wheel passion in Ghost.

The results are revealed in a new sexual fantasy survey of 2,000 people by IllicitEncounters.com, the UK's leading dating site for married people.

It found that a further 75% of women and 54% of men have lived out a sexual fantasy they have discovered in a book.

And 68% of women and 63% of men have played out a fantasy they had in an erotic dream.

The most popular sexual fantasy is having sex in a public place, chosen by 78% of couples, followed by tying up or being tied up (72%), sex with a friend or work colleague (71%), sex with a celebrity (59%), domination and submission (58%), making a sex tape (48%), sex with a stranger (43%), having a threesome (37%), sex on a plane (25%) and voyeurism (22%).

Half of women (50%) and 45% of men said they were embarrassed by their fantasies, though most would tell their partner about them.

IllicitEncounters.com sex and relationship expert Jessica Leoni said: "It's great news that so many people are turning their sexual fantasies into reality including recreating lots of the hottest movie scenes.

"Seven out of ten people fantasise about having sex with a close friend or work colleague.

"That cheating impulse is contained within nearly all of us and we find that around a third of couples act on that impulse and end up having affairs.

"What you dream about doing one day, you live for real the next."
