Sky issue statement to Sheffield customers after thousands report loss of broadband

Sky is investigating reports of a loss of broadband connection across Sheffield tonight.

Users across the city have taken to Twitter tonight to voice their frustration at the loss of connectivity.

Among them is BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker, who lives in Sheffield.

He posted: “Sky Help Team. Any idea what is happening with sky broadband? We are in Sheffield and the whole thing has gone. Thanks.”

He added: “We were 10 minutes away from the end of a series on Netflix. Far bigger problems in the world but hopefully you can sort soon.”

He was joined by Logan Mellor, who posted: “Same has happened to me mate.”

In response, Sky said: “We're looking in to reports regarding loss of connection in the area at the moment.

“Nothing to confirm yet, but keep an eye out for an update if/when we do. Apologies for any inconvenience.”
