'Sheridan Smith is the Sausage!" Masked Singer fans say Doncaster actress is behind costume

That’s the verdict of fans of wacky ITV music show The Masked Singer who are convinced that the Doncaster actress is one of the stars of the latest series after a stunning performance on last night’s show.

Sausage’s second performance on the show – where famous faces perform hidden by elaborate costumes while judges try to guess who they are – saw the mystery performer belt out And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going by Jennifer Hudson.

There were also changes to the costume, providing clues that could point to the singer being Isle of Axholme-born actress Sheridan.

After their battle with Badger previously, this was displayed as a headline on their outfit.

The newest clues included a bag of potato snacks, her huge vocals and a comment about her hair colour being certified by law.

This could be linked to her former TV series Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, and her starring in Legally Blonde The Musical.

Judges Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora, Davina McCall and Mo Gilligan were asked who they thought it was, with three of them naming Sheridan.

Viewers also had another go at stating who they believed was under the mask, convinced they were now onto them.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: "Definitely @Sheridansmith1 for sausage."

Another said: "that legally blonde clue tho. gotta be Sheridan."

Another guess read: "Sausage is Sheridan Smith right?"

But viewers will have to wait a little longer yet after the mystery star survived a sing-off to progress to the next show.
