Sheffield’s human rights activists to protest ongoing violence in Jerusalem

Sheffield-based human rights activists will take to the streets on Tuesday evening to protest the ongoing unrest in East Jerusalem that left hundreds injured.

Organiser, Abdullah Okud said members of the public are welcome to gather at the City Hall from 6pm to stand in solidarity with the Palestinians.

In recent days, violence has resumed after Israel threatened to evict dozens of Palestinians in the Sheikh Jarrah neighbourhood.

Abdullah said: "Firstly we want to thank the people of Sheffield for wanting to come out and support the protest.

"We call upon citizens of Sheffield to continue supporting our Palestinian siblings beyond protests and share content on their social media platforms, sign petition but also write to their MPs demanding that the UK government must take immediate action and stop allowing Israel to act with impunity.

"Additionally to demand an end to current proceedings to evict these families, and start holding Israel accountable for all its actions ,which contribute to the crime of apartheid."
