General manager Matt Davies, said: “The new label for Henderson’s Relish highlights what we have always been, Strong and Northern, and made in Sheffield.

“The new label returns to our traditional Orange colour. The Henderson’s Relish brand name, and ‘Strong & Northern’ strapline, are featured with embossed print.

“Henderson’s Relish is vegan-approved and gluten free, and we continue to highlight these important attributes on our new label.”

It was Henry Henderson who concocted his first batch of Relish in 1885. Originally made at 35 Broad Lane in Sheffield, Henderson’s Relish is still being made and has been in uninterrupted production within a short distance of the site from which the first bottle was filled.

In 1940 Charles Hinksman bought Hendersons, and the company has been in the family ever since. The Henderson’s Relish recipe remains a secret to this day, known only to three family members.

Bottles featuring the new label are currently in production, and will hit shelves this month.
