Sheffield theatre school students awarded prestigious performing arts scholarship
“For many students, Razzamataz becomes much more than a performing arts school”
Two students from Razzamataz Sheffield have received a huge boost in confidence after being selected as the winner and runner up of a prestigious performing arts scholarship.
The duo were selected as this year’s scholarship recipients at Razzamataz Sheffield after impressing a panel of industry experts with their audition.
The Razzamataz Scholarship programme recognises young people with potential and provides funded training at their local school to help them grow in confidence, develop their performance skills and discover what they are capable of achieving.
Open to both existing Razzamataz students and those who may be stepping into a performing arts environment for the very first time, the scholarships are not based on previous experience or professional training.
Instead, judges are looking for enthusiasm, imagination, commitment and that special spark of creativity from young people who will benefit from the expert tuition, encouragement and supportive environment that Razzamataz provide.
The scholarship will provide both students with a 50 per cent scholarship and a full scholarship for Razzamataz training, giving them the chance to continue developing their performance skills alongside other young people who share their passion.
Alongside the training, both students will also be able to enjoy all the many other opportunities that come with being a Razzamataz student.
This includes regular performance experiences, workshops with industry experts, the chance to perform in prestigious theatres, make new friends, build confidence and develop valuable life skills that extend far beyond the stage.
For many students, Razzamataz becomes much more than a performing arts school. It is a place where they discover their potential, find their voice and gain the self-belief to take on new challenges, whether in education, future careers or everyday life.
Since launching, the Razzamataz Scholarships has invested approximately £250,000 in funded places, across the UK and now the UAE and Republic of Ireland.
As part of a national network of theatre schools, Razzamataz Sheffield is proud to bring these opportunities to local families, helping young people develop not only performance skills but also confidence, teamwork, communication and resilience.
