Northbourne, a four piece from Sheffield, had told how thieves broke into their studio in Shalesmoor at some point last week and stole “pretty much everything” they’d worked for in the last four to five years.

They asked the public to keep an eye out for anyone selling the stolen goods and spoke of how losing the equipment would put a massive financial strain on the band.

Business owner Sam Staton, who runs Prime Tiger, has rushed to their aid and is now offering to help get Northbourne back on their feet by allowing them to hire music equipment from his company for free.

He said: “I’m really keen to help this band out, it’s a tough industry at a hard time. I have received help, kindness and support from the local Sheffield music scene throughout my career.

“Sheffield’s music scene supported me to where I am now, working with bands and artists such as Hawkwind, Eric Clapton, Gary Numan and The Hoosiers just to name a few. Giving back to grassroots music is essential to us.”

Prime Tiger provides professional sound engineers and audio equipment for venues including The Riverside and The Great Gatsby, as well as for touring bands, artists and festivals.

“Because we work with bands we’ve got all the equipment so can help by lending them drum kits, bass amps, guitar amps and things like that for rehearsals or once they get some gigs in,” Sam added.

“I know what it’s like when you’ve invested your entire life into something – I’ve wasted my time in bands that haven’t worked out, travelled thousands of miles with bands that are trying to breakthrough. They had gigs booked and when something like this happens it’s devastating.”

Prime Tiger is currently supporting Peddler Night Market and is managing and broadcasting a free live stream of those who were set to play.

A food delivery service will go live Friday, providing work to freelancers who have been hit financially by Covid-19.
