A man is due to to be sentenced today for the murder of a Sheffield dad in Killamarsh after stabbing him in a street attack.

9.28am - Trial due to start over alleged murder and shooting of Sheffield solicitor Khuram Javed

A trial is due to start today over the alleged murder of Sheffield solicitor Khuram Javed who was fatally wounded after a shooting in the city.

1.09pm - Preparatory discusions ahead of the trial into the alleged murder of Sheffield solicitor Khuram Javed, who was fatally-wounded after a shooting in the city, are continuing.

The jury trial is not expected to begin today but it is still expected to start at some stage this week - potentially from Wednesday, January 19.

12.46pm - Further preparatory delays are expected today before the trial into the alleged murder of Sheffield solicitor Khuram Javed, who was fatally-wounded after a shooting in the city, can get underway.

12.34pm - The five accused in the trial into the alleged murder of Sheffield solicitor Khuram Javed who was fatally-wounded after a shooting in the city include the following defendants: Samsul Mohamed, aged 19, of Wolseley Road, Heeley, Sheffield, who was charged with murder; Atif Mohamed, of Sharrow Lane, Sheffield, who was aged 19 at the time he was charged with assisting an offender; Tinashe Kampira, of Donovan Road, Sheffield, who was also aged 19 at the time he was charged with assisting an offender; Sohidul Mohamed, aged 24, and Saydul Mohammed, aged 22, both of The Greenway, Sheffield, were also both charged with assisting an offender.

Preparations are still underway before the trial, which was scheduled to begin today, can get underway.

11.56am - The judge - The Honourable Mrs Justice Lambert - in the trial into the alleged murder of Sheffield solicitor Khuram Javed has temporarily risen to allow the barristers in the case more time to establish a new estimated time schedule for the trial before it can commence.

11.32am - Preparations are still underway currently prior to the beginning of today’s scheduled trial into the alleged murder of Sheffield solicitor Khuram Javed.

11.16am - The defendants are now ready for the beginning of the trial into the alleged murder of Sheffield solicitor Khuram Javed and have all been identified.

10.35am - Barristers have now gathered in court preparing for the trial into the alleged murder of Sheffield solicitor Khuram Javed who was fatally-wounded after a shooting in the city.

The trial at Sheffield Crown Court is scheduled to start today, Monday, January 17, and is scheduled to last five weeks and will be heard before The Honourable Mrs Justice Lambert.

10.29am - A trial is due to start over the alleged murder of Sheffield solicitor Khuram Javed who was fatally-wounded after a shooting in the city.

The trial of five defendants is listed to begin today, Monday, January 17, at Sheffield Crown Court, following a police investigation into the death of Mr Javed who was found fatally wounded near Clough Road, close to Bramall Lane, Sheffield, during the evening of April 10, 2021.

One of the defendants has been charged with murder and two others have been charged with assisting an offender in connection with a murder. Two more defendants are also due to appear in connection with the trial.
