Ellie Hensby described how she had visited the Vue cinema on January 2 to watch the animated sequel with her children, only to find the offending hairstyle of the woman in front blocking her view of the screen.

Sharing a photo of what she could see that day, she claimed cinemas should enforce a policy preventing viewers wearing their hair up if it would obstruct other people’s views.

“Had the pleasure of viewing this lady’s head and hair yesterday whilst my kids watched Frozen 2!” she wrote.

“Surely there’s got to be a policy on how people should wear their hair when they come to the pictures, and you need more height between your seats!! A small person with a giant with a double head in front of them has absolutely no chance of seeing anything in your cinemas.”

The post has attracted well over 100 comments, with her experience eliciting little sympathy from other social media users.

Some questioned why she hadn’t just moved seats or asked the woman politely to let her hair down, while others wondered why the photo appeared to have been taken from chest height rather than eye level.

Explaining why she hadn’t approached the woman, Ms Hensby said: “Because the film was about to start and her kids were bouncing around like they were on a bouncy castle, stressing her out, so I chose not to possibly cause an argument about it but wanted to make other inconsiderate people aware of the fact that if you wear your hair in such hairstyles at the pictures it’s going to cause people a bit of an inconvenience.”

She added that the cinema had been full that day so there was no chance of changing seats.

The Star has contacted Vue International, which has yet to respond.
