Kam Zubairi, from Crookes, bought a packet of spicy chicken pastries from Marks and Spencer in Sheffield city centre last Thursday (October 22) and took them home to eat for lunch.

After he made the ‘disgusting’ discovery he contacted M&S customer service, however claims that he has been treated ‘awfully’ and not received a refund or even a proper apology.

Kam, who runs a business himself, explained: “I had heated up the product and I was biting into it when I felt something really hard at the back of my mouth.

"I felt around the back of my teeth and pulled out an object that looked like an animal tooth of some kind.

"My fiance and I looked at it on the table and we were just thinking ‘what on earth is that?’ We were disgusted.

"We didn’t finish the food – we didn’t want to touch it after that. If that was in there who knows what else was."

Kam said that he went back to the shop in Sheffield to make a complaint, however he was not given any assistance.

"I got in touch with customer service and their response has been awful,” he said.

"They told me to send them the product and the tooth so they could investigate, and I had to pay for the postage myself.

"I suspected that as soon as they had the evidence then all trace of nicety they had shown me would vanish, and I was right.

"I just received a message saying they would investigate and be in touch. No refund and no apology.

"I run a business myself and customer service is so important. If something goes wrong you have to do whatever you can to make it right."

An M&S spokesperson said: “Instances like this are extremely rare and we’re investigating the sample with our product testing team. We’ve apologised to Mr Zubairi for his experience and will be in touch with him to discuss our findings as soon as we have them.”
