Lee Hutton of Oughtibridge said instead of standing in car parks and being out in the cold, the visiting booths can make a huge difference.

And his brilliant idea has received lots of positive response from the community and many have come forward to help him with the cause through donations.

The fundraising campaign he set up on a Go Fund Me page, has raised almost £300 since it was launched yesterday.

And he would start by having two booths fitted - one in Coumes Brooke Home and one in Herries Lodge Care Home.

He said: "I wanted to do it on my own, free of charge for the one in Oughtibridge but many people were interested to fund it.

"The lads who work for me were happy to work for free and just get the money for the materials. Before I knew it, all of this happened.

"I can't believe the amount of people who care about what I'm doing. I think it can make a big difference for people.

"They can interact better than what they are doing at the minute. I think we should look after the elderly people because they have looked after us."

Lee, who works for the Sheffield City Council, said some companies have also shown their interest to help.

"If I didn't get any donation, I would be looking at £300 pounds per material, depending on what's needed for it."

He also said he is looking into building more booths for more care homes around Sheffield after this.

"I think it's nice to do something and to give something back during these times," he said.

One of the people who donated to his project praised Lee for his efforts.

He said: “Hope you get there with this, Lee. Dad died in a care home in April and mum, in particular, was devastated she hadn't seen him for two months. This initiative would have been a great help.”
