Sheffield Love Island star opens up about 'horrible' trolling, following Caroline Flack's death

A former Love Island star from Sheffield has spoken about trolling on social media – days after former presenter Caroline Flack took her own life.

Savanna Darnell, who was on the show in 2018, has spoken about her experiences of being trolled since appearing on the ITV programme.

It comes after friends of Caroline Flack asked people to "be kind" to others after she was trolled on social media.

Ms Darnell told the BBC: "It's really sad. I hope things change now. I knew I was on national TV and I was going to be out to the public, but I wasn't expecting the trolls and the horrible comments about my appearance."

SavannA starred in the hit ITV show’s 2018 series but has revealed how death threats and insults plunged her into depression.

a daughter of 80s pop star Kid Creole, SHE was one of five girls who entered the reality show later in the series.

Savanna said the comments on social media meant she ended up hating how she looked - stopping her from even leaving her house.

"I came out stronger. Whoever's trolling should really think about what they're saying," she said.

"I wish the help offered by Love Island should be put on you - you should be made to have that help. Some people feeling so down and low feel like they don't want any help to get better."
