The independently owned and run boutique hotel, and Michelin guide-listed neighbourhood kitchen restaurant, has acquired many accolades over the years including the Yorkshire White Rose award and the Good Hotel Guide award.

In 2014, the building that sits next to Endcliffe Park in Sheffield underwent a huge transformation from its derelict state with the view of creating an affordably stylish experience.

It was designed in keeping with its Edwardian heritage and internally styled with the Nordic values of simplicity and cosiness, which resulted in clean uncluttered lines and a soothing palette of colours.

According to the owners, guests often comment on the sense of peace and calm in the building.

Recently, the restaurant completed some seasonal changes with the addition of a new seasonal menu featuring lots of new dishes, some hearty red wines for winter and exciting autumnal décor to match.

This décor received huge praise from Location Location Location’s very own Kirstie Allsop who asked to film the ‘offer scene’ of the series at Brocco. Kirstie said it was so cosy, twinkly and both her and the film crew loved all the autumnal grasses, seeds and flowers adorning their tables.

The restaurant will feature in an episode set to air during the New Year.

The team at Brocco said they were ‘pretty excited’ when Kirstie asked to film there but tried to look ‘super cool’ about it all.

In an Instagram post, Kirstie Allsopp wrote: “Filming in Sheffield, this may be my favourite city in the UK, green, friendly, affordable and the architecture is human, human houses built for families.

She added: “Plus had a really lovely @broccosheffield and a trip to the brilliant toy shop at the #sheffieldbotanicalgardens. My job is a huge privilege.”

In other news, the restaurant will be hosting a chef’s table next week on October 15 along with a wine tasting game.

The menu is a surprise five-course blind tasting menu and wine flight, supported by local wine guru Flick Wattam who is presenting ‘who’s wine is it anyway?’
