Sheffield Half Marathon: 33 more pictures show moments you may have missed at massive city event

With some 4,000 runners taking part, Sheffield Half Marathon was always going to be big day.

And we have put together another gallery, showing 33 moments you may have missed at the Sheffield event which saw thousands more line the 13.1 mile course from Arundel Gate up to Ringinglow and back, via roads including Ecclesall Road.

If you’ve not seen yourself or a friend in pictures yet, they may be in some of these photos, showing characters ranging from Batman and Robin to running morris dancers, all part of an eclectic field.

Organisers are delighted with the day’s events.

Tristan Batley-Kyle, operations director at Run For All, said: “It was fantastic to be back in Sheffield for one of Yorkshire’s largest running events, the Sheffield Mutual Sheffield Half Marathon. The support from everyone involved really made the day!

“A huge congratulations to all participants, whether they achieved a personal best, raised funds for a good cause, or simply came to enjoy the event. Every runner played a part in making this day a success. We’re already looking forward to returning to the city later this year for the Sheffield 10k. We can’t wait to see you there.”

Jamie Bellamy, chief executive at sponsor Sheffield Mutual, added: “What an incredible day at the Sheffield Half Marathon! It’s been fantastic to see so many runners take on the challenge, from first timers to seasoned athletes, all pushing themselves and supporting great causes along the way.

“As a proud sponsor, we love being part of this event, which truly brings the Sheffield community together. It was also brilliant to see so many families visiting our stand in the event village, with children getting involved in our Numbers Academy to learn about the importance of saving. A huge congratulations to everyone who crossed the finishing line, you should all be incredibly proud of your achievement.”
