Sheffield children's charity Barnardo's seeks volunteers

It is holding informal training session on Thursday, January 16 from 5pm to 7pm in Castleford Civic Centre.

IVs befriend young people up to 21 who are in care. They are specially trained to provide emotional support and friendship to the young people, independent of statutory services.

Barnardo’s are asking for time and commitment from IVs, who are matched with a young person in care with similar interests, so they can establish a relationship and enjoy leisure and social time.
