Sheffield cat charity offers free 'snip and chip' for key worker pets

A Sheffield cat charity is offering key workers free microchipping and neutering for their cats, as a thank you for their contribution during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The north Sheffield branch of Cats Protection are giving essential workers vouchers that can be redeemed against the procedures between September 1 and September 30.

The coupons will give key workers £25 towards the neutering cost of a male cat and £40 towards a female.

In a Facebook post, the Cats Protection branch said: “We, like everyone else in the country, greatly appreciate the efforts of our key workers over the last few months!

"We wanted to do a little something to give back so we are offering free neutering and microchipping for the cats of key workers during September.

"We have partnered with the amazing Park Veterinary Hospital and Abbeymoor Veterinary Centres to make this possible.”
