Sheffield busker Leona Jorgensen's reaction after making it through to the finals of The Voice

Sheffield’s Leona Jorgensen has made it through to the finals of ITV’s The Voice after being selected by Anne-Marie in last night’s show.

Leona, aged 26, who regularly performs on the streets of Sheffield Leona performed Holy by Justin Bieber and Chance The Rapper.

She was chosen by Anne-Marie after performances by fellow singers Stephanee Leal and Sweeney.

Announcing her decision, Anne-Marie told the singers: “ I think you're all ready to make your own music but the person that makes me go 'Oh my gosh!' is Leona."

And on social media, Leona said it had been her favourite solo performance up to date away from busking and appeal for more support from the public.

"What a madness to be able to perform in front of 4 stars that I honestly super rate. What an absolute blessing I swear Public vote next my guys.”

Anne-Marie was joined by Leigh-Anne Pinnock of Little Mix for the show which included an audience watching from home due to the pandemic.

Leona won online praise from fans for her performance.

Ryan Glendenning said “You have an artist worthy voice that's fantastic in every way. A huge congratulations I hope the public pick up the phone and vote for you.”

The second semi-final takes place next weekend.
