Now, a week after the allegations about the company surfaced, company bosses released a statement promising to ‘rectify the situation’ and ensure people are 'fully taken care of’.

It said: “Beyoutiful Boutique Training School is currently in the process of rectifying the situation professionally, and are working with the associated companies and bodies involved to make sure that all those affected through this are fully taken care of in the best possible way.”

But former employee Layla Barnes said simply backdating certificates would not suffice and everyone needed retraining.

She said: “They are bypassing everyone and not taking responsibility for what they have done.

“They asked a Manchester company to reaccredit a few students but their phones have been ringing off the hook. They can't cope with the amount of people getting in touch with them.

“Beyoutiful are still saying it is a clerical error and they will not be refunding people. They say they have offered people a solution.”

Last week, Sheffield Council trading standards confirmed to the Star that they were ‘reviewing complaints’ received relating to the business and would be considering whether any ‘compliance issues’ needed to be addressed.

They were responding to hundreds of complaints lodged with them and posts on social media from students complaining their certificates were useless.

It is not the first time Beyoutiful or companies linked to it have been accused of wrongdoing.

In 2018, Megan Barringer, an employee of Beyoutiful Boutique, a company linked to Beyoutiful Hair and Beauty Training Academy, which was based in Chesterfield, was fined £650 for illegally offering tooth whitening to customers.

Beyoutiful Boutique was dissolved in July 2019, just days before Beyoutiful Hair and Beauty Training Academy was incorporated.
