Announcing the news on Instagram, owner Jack Norman said the decision to quit Cutlery Works had been ‘difficult’ but was necessary to ensure the continued success of the firm.

He said: “Over the past 18 months, we have loved our home at Cutlery Works. We have served countless pies, enjoyed many great times, learnt an awful lot and met some wonderful people.

“It is safe to say this has been a very difficult decision to make, but it is one that we have made to ensure the longevity of our business, and indeed ourselves, as we head into a very busy summer of weddings and events.

“None of the things we’ve achieved at Cutlery Works would be possible without so many people. It’s hard to find the words that match our sentiment, but just a huge thank you to everyone who has ever bought, prepared, served, recommended, photographed, shared, talked, delivered and of course, eaten pies at Cutlery Works! Thank you so much!

“Last but not definitely not least, thank you to all the other fantastic vendors in Cutlery Works for creating such a fantastic environment to have worked in. It’s been a real honour to trade next to some of Sheffield’s finest!”
