Plans revealed for new Starbucks and Greggs in Sheffield village

Plans have been submitted to Sheffield City Council to build a Starbucks drive-thru, a Gregg’s and another retail unit in Ecclesfield.

The vacant site, on The Common, housed a service station until 1987.

Dovetail Architects Ltd lodged the pan on behalf of the the multi-national coffee chain, which would see the shop built on the vacant site, close to The Common’s junction with Mill Road.

As part of the plan, a drive-thru outlet would be built along with 45 car parking spaces, and space for 36 bikes.

If approved, the scheme would create 25 full-time and 20 part-time jobs, in a boost to the economy.

The Starbucks branch will be the tenth in Sheffield, and the 11th Gregg's branch.

The site will be accessed from The Common and Church Street adjacent to the north eastern and north western frontages of the site respectively.

Sheffield City Council will make a decision on the plan at a later date.
