A South Yorkshire photographer is helping families create happy memories while raising money for a vital charity during the UK lockdown.

Demand for Hayley Kirk’s ‘doorstep portraits’ are now so high she said she visited more than 100 houses in and around her local area of Waverley, Rotherham on Saturday, April 25, alone.

Hayley, who runs Hayley Kirk Photography, does not take payment for the moving images- but has asked for donations where possible to Cash For Kids which supports children who are disabled, disadvantage or suffering from abuse or neglect.

She said: “I know times are hard at the minute for a lot of people, and you’re under no obligation to donate anything as I’m doing this because it’s something that I love doing.

“It’s been lovely to meet families on the estate over the past week and take your family photo, and I’ll be meeting more of you this weekend. Waverley is a lovely family estate and I’m so proud to live here in a community like we’ve got.

“I hope you all enjoy the memories for years to come.”

The photographs are all snapped from a safe distance in accordance with government guidelines, and feature smiling families and their pets trying to make the most of the UK lockdown.

They have become a fun way for Hayley to fill the time when she should be photographing weddings which have had to be postponed due to the coronavirus crisis.
