Lambert Smith Hampton, on behalf of FI, said: "It seeks to provide leisure based activities that are fun, safe and inclusive - enabling children, teens and adults to challenge themselves and each other through a series of specifically designed courses and obstacles.

"The concept is proving to be inspiring and aspirational for all ages and abilities and can help contribute towards health and wellbeing objectives of local communities."

Parking, party rooms, a healthy restaurant, wheelchair access, rooms to hire, toilets, showers and changing rooms with lockers are also part of the proposals.

Visitors would be able to take on various challenges as seen on TV, including the spider wall, Ninja reaction zone, giant airbag, climbing wall, sea of doors and jump tower.

The courses would be graded by difficulty and can be timed, so participants can save a personal best for future visits.

Ninja Warrior UK and ITV are also looking to create a series of regional championships too.

Three of the adventure parks already exist around the country with plans for another in Cardiff.

If given the green light, developers predict it to attract around 100,000 visitors every year and bring a "significant profile" to Sheffield city region.

Lambert Smith Hampton said the aims for the show were to increase brand strength and viewing figures with a vision to be "more than TV" and said it would also have a positive impact on local residents by creating jobs as well as help improve fitness and make good use of a vacant site.

The park would be open seven days a week, from 11am to 8pm on weekdays and 10am to 9pm on weekends.
