Locals left surprised as thirsty peacock makes unexpected visit to Sheffield pub
It was indeed a sight to behold when a peacock showed up at a popular Sheffield pub unexpectedly with its feathers fanned out and casually helped itself to the leftovers on the table.
Dr Amanda Crawley Jackson, who captured the beautiful creature in action on her camera on Thursday night, said the peacock made the surprise visit to the Strines Inn in Bradfield Dale.
She tweeted: "Because right now, we could all do with getting dressed up and having a bit of an evening out...
"I recommend their homemade pies and treacle sponge with custard (and the peacocks and lambs and rabbits) for an instant pick-me-up."
Located on the edge of the Peaks, the inn is popular with walkers looking to unwind post-walk.
A decidedly remote pub and has been an inn since the 1770s, food and real ales are served, and there's a large stone fireplace as an antidote to the moorland frost.
There’s no wonder it has become a local favourite (animals included)
