The team behind the successful Student Colour Run is back for its 6th year of throwing the most colourful and fun 5k events for students across the UK. This year, they are proud to present the very first Family Colour Run on 8th May 2020 in Sheffield. The run takes place along a unique route around the beautiful Crookes Valley Park and Weston Park, with the annual Student Colour Run taking place on the same site later that day.

The event is the perfect way to spend Bank Holiday Friday - participants can enjoy the big stage madness before the run with colour throwing, dancing, singing and a mass warm-up. Those taking part can run or walk the family friendly course, and get doused with colour and music at each colour throwing station on the route. A £2 donation from all tickets sold will go directly to support Sheffield Youth Homelessness charity, Roundabout.

The event is the brainchild of Student Colour Run promoter, Neil Midgley, who has seen the popularity of his Student Colour Run events growing significantly over the past 5 years, with more families looking to take part each year. By creating an event specifically for families, Neil hopes to encourage those with younger children to join the fun too.

Neil commented: “Why should students have all the fun? Our Family Colour Run is a great way for the whole family to get involved, from babies in pushchairs to groups of school friends and their families, to grandparents - our event is inclusive and promises to be colourful fun for everyone. The donation to Roundabout to support their work tackling youth homelessness in the city is something my family is passionate about, and I know the whole of Sheffield will join with us in that.”

Early bird tickets for the Family Colour Run are now on sale, and are priced at £18 per adult and £9 for 5-16 year olds. Under 5’s join the fun for free. Tickets are being sold through the Social Enterprise ticket outlet, Tickets for Good.

Tickets available via the Student Colour Run website http://www.studentcolour.co.uk/family-colour-run/ or join the Facebook event, search Family Colour Run Sheffield.
