The yearly Legends game, which sees former Doncaster Rovers aces take on legends from another Yorkshire club, was due to take place at the club’s stadium on May 23.

However, the game will now be moved to another date as it comes just a few days ahead of a huge concert at the stadium by The Killers which is expected to attract thousands of fans.

It is understood the game has been moved as by that time, preparations for the concert will be well under way.

A spokesman for organisers Evestrust said: “As most of our followers will be aware, this year’s charity Legends event was previously scheduled for Saturday May 23.

“However, due to the exciting announcement by Doncaster Rovers Football Club that The Killers are coming to the Keepmoat Stadium, our event has been forced to reschedule.

“Both Evestrust and Doncaster Rovers would like to stress, this is a reschedule and not a cancellation.

“As it stands the reschedule date is to be confirmed while we establish the best possible date for all parties. This takes into account a number of various factors, including both the club’s and stadium’s existing and up-coming commitments.

“We thank you all for your patience and will update you as soon as we have some concrete information.”

This year’s game will see Rovers take on Sheffield Wednesday.
