Permission Homes has joined forces with Team GB as part of a new scheme to award grants to several charities across the country.

The Children’s Hospital Charity is one of a number of finalists that have been chosen internally, and now the decision on how much each charity will receive comes down to a public vote.

Daniel Robinson, marketing and communications assistant at the charity, said: “We are in with the chance of winning £100,000 for our appeal to transform the Cancer and Leukaemia Ward at Sheffield Children’s Hospital, and your vote could get us the top prize.

“If we are successful in securing the funding, the money will go towards transforming the ward which, treats children from babies to teenagers.

“Under our new plans to re-develop the ward, the space will be transformed, making it a more pleasant space for children receiving life-saving treatment to recover.”

The new ward will comprise of en-suite bedrooms with park views, and facilities for parents, as well as a new playroom, teenage room and classroom.

Catherine Foster, trust fundraising manager, added: “We are absolutely delighted to be a finalist in the Persimmon Homes ‘Building Futures’ competition.

“We need the support of every reader to cast their vote for the charity each and every day until September 18.
