The pensioner had visited the supermarket cafe for lunch every weekday since her husband Harry died 23 years ago, and credited the staff and customers with helping her cope with her grief.

Hide AdThe ‘brilliant’ lady turned 90 today (Wednesday, August 5) and received the ‘best birthday present ever’ during a socially-distanced gathering thanks to grandchildren Victoria, 32, and Harry, 20.
Victoria said: “Due to Covid, nan hasn’t had a hug since February. I made the cuddle curtain out of a shower curtain, a clothes rail and some farmer’s gloves."
