‘Heartbreaking’: Thieves steal outside heaters from popular Sheffield bar while it’s closed due to Covid

The popular Kelham Kitchen and Wine Bar has shared their ‘upset’ at thieves stealing their outside heaters after already being ‘hit very hard’ by the pandemic.

Kelham Kitchen and Wine Bar, located on Ball Street in Neepsend near Kelham Island, has shared their ‘upset’ and dismay at their outside heaters being cut away and stolen today, February 16.

This comes after previous after previous break ins, an added expense the owners have said they ‘can’t afford’ during these testing times for the hospitality industry.

The owners of are now asking anyone with any information about the incident to contact them.

They told The Star: “We are so upset by all this.

"We are unsure at the moment when it happened as we only checked up today and noticed a wire hanging down at first.

"Then on closer inspection they had taken the heaters.”

They added: “It is such a hard time at the minute for the hospitality industry.”

Following a post on their Facebook page, messages of condolences from the Sheffield community have flooded in for the popular independent.

The post said: “Heart breaking, hard times.

“We have now been subject to break ins at the bar, where windows, doors and the bifolds have been damaged and smashed.

"The pod has also been vandalised and now the outside heaters have been cut and stolen.

"We are a small independent business that have been hit very hard by the pandemic along with other businesses and especially the hospitality industry.

"We can’t afford all of these costs as well as being closed. We are absolutely devastated. If anyone has any information please can you come forward.”
