Pete said similar pieces with other front line workers are “in the pipeline”. Some of the artwork is currently for sale on his website.

Dr Rachel Handsworth tweeted: “Lovely to see these @PeteMcKee designs on my morning run, really lifted my spirits #sheffieldissuper #LoveOurNHS”

John Featherstone described the art as “gorgeous”, while another tweet said it as “heartwarming” to see it up in Sheffield.

Last month Pete announced he was self-isolating due to coronavirus. His latest exhibition – Eight New Paintings – was due to take place at Sheffield’s Millennium Gallery in March but had to be postponed because of the pandemic.
