Gino D’Campo tells the people of Sheffield to “keep buying The Star”

The faaabulous and exuberant chef called into the region on Wednesday, December 4 to sign copies of his two new books at WH Smith in Meadowhall.

Hundreds gathered to catch a glimpse of the chef, who had a pearly white smile and kisses for all as he returned to the city that spawned his middle name, which Gino legally changed to ‘Sheffield’ following a running joke that it is the steel city, rather than Italy, that Gino originates from.

As well as his new recipe book, Gino's Italian Express – which is a celebration of the delicious and authentic local foods Gino discovered on his train travels across beautiful Italy – Gino was also signing copies of his first children’s book, Wiskella, which Gino created to help children discover the joy of cooking, with the character of Wiskella guiding them through a recipe for ‘the world’s most delicious pancakes.’

The idea came from Gino’s memories of his childhood when he would cook with his grandfather.
