Passers-by were left surprised and amused in equal measure when they spotted two people in high-visibility clothing, complete with wings, peddling the three-wheeled creation on Meersbrook Park Road, Valley Road and other locations.

Pif-Paf Theatre, based in the city, were behind the stunt.

A spokesperson for the group told The Star: “The show is a work in progress commission, for an as-yet-undisclosed commissioner.

"This was a rehearsal run. The piece is set to appear on the streets elsewhere in the UK in December, viewed from the safety of people’s homes.”

They added: “We are really keen to get some live arts and culture out to families during these strange times, and have devised this piece to be Covid-safe and within government guidelines.”

The group hope to be able to perform a version of the show in the Meersbrook area.
