Get first peek at new £30 a room Sheffield hotel - opening this month

Following a delay in its opening due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the new 126-bedroom hotel will operate with elevated hygiene and prevention measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all guests and staff in line with Accor’s ALLSAFE label certification.

Also opening, on the ground floor of the new hotel, is Chill, an artisan bar and coffee shop.

Locals and guests can enjoy premium coffees and deli food, grabbing a flat white and a delicious cooked-to-order pizza to enjoy in the café, take-out or as in-room dining.

Dave Amans, general manager at Ibis budget Sheffield St Marys Gate, said: “We are so excited to finally be opening our doors to locals and those visiting Sheffield.

"The health and safety of our staff and guests is paramount and so we are opening with stringent ALLSAFE procedures in place including hospital grade cleaning standards and social distancing measures throughout the property.

"Our priority is to ensure our guests and local community feel comfortable in booking a much-needed break or grabbing a coffee as they experience something outside of their homes for the first time in months.”

The ALLSAFE label certification has been developed by the leading global hotel operator to represent the new cleanliness and prevention standards and provide assurance to guests and staff.

The new protocols implemented in property ahead of its opening include: hospital grade cleaning standards with anti-viral cleaning products, reinforced cleaning program in public areas with frequent disinfection of high touch rooms and bathroom areas, social distancing enforced in all common areas, reinforced food safety standards, additional mitigation including staff PPE, and contactless check-in, check-out and payments carried out whenever possible.
