Bosses at Fir Tree Farm Equestrian Centre, which has been running for nearly four decades, say coronavirus restrictions have left it struggling to pay bills.

Now a GoFundMe campaign has already raised more than £1,500 to help keep the centre at Moss in business.

Fir Tree’s Frances Randall said: “Lockdown 3 is hitting us hard – and the hardest bit is not having an end in sight.

"With all of our bills exactly the same, it’s hard to keep up with the payments with no lesson money coming in.

"We hate to have to ask for help but so many of you have suggested that we set up a GoFundMe again.

"Lots of you helped us out last time and have continued to throughout the last year and we will forever be grateful for your kindness. We are so lucky to have such supportive and kind friends and we hope that when this is all over we can hold a big gathering at the yard to show you all our gratitude.”

The equestrian centre, which has been running for 35 years, caters for riders of all ages and abilities, with more than 30 horses and ponies in its care and offers riding lessons from toddlers through to adults.

Under the latest Covid-19 lockdown, riding schools are among the businesses forced to close their doors.
